Jeshua Lauka practices law in the three major areas of the firm: business, real estate, and estate and trust. He balances out his transactional practice of those respective areas with extensive experience in litigation. Jeshua has developed a focus in representing start-up businesses and entrepreneurs in West Michigan in all aspects of business, as well as representing clients in real estate matters. Jeshua has represented clients in most every state court throughout West and Southwest Michigan.
Jeshua has served on various non-profit boards including as Board Chairman at Mel Trotter Ministries, Volunteers in Service, the Stockbridge Boiler Room, and as Co-Chair of Leadership Goodwill, through Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids. Jeshua was a 2009 Participant in the Hon. Douglas Hillman Trial Advocacy Clinic and received a Certificate of Completion of the ICLE Litigation Skills Boot Camp in May 2010. Jeshua was selected by Super Lawyers as a Michigan Rising Star for the years 2013-2016. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.
Jeshua joined David & Wierenga in 2012. Jeshua was previously a partner at a business law firm in Kalamazoo, MI. He also served as a law clerk with the Michigan Senate Majority Policy Office and with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office. He earned his J.D. from Regent University in Virginia where he graduated in the top 30% of his class. While attending Regent, Jeshua was a recipient of the Academic Merit Award and Dean’s Scholarship. He graduated cum laude from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Humanities, Pre-Law.
